Вот, нашла их значения (это я для себя): Orford is of Old English origin, and its meaning is "ford of cattle". Oxford is of Old English origin, and its meaning is "ford of the oxen". Ford – river crossing А «Dux» означает: 1. Brit. the pupil who is academically first in a class or school. 2. (in the later Roman Empire) a military chief commanding the troops in a frontier province.
